This past May we collaborated with two very talented people to bring forth the photoshoot for our Brooklyn Opulence collection. The art we created is a unique mixture of traditional African prints, gaudy outlandish fashions and Brooklyn street grit, scored to the sounds of classical music.

For the first time we had the pleasure of working withJarae, an amazing stylist here in NY. She pulled these fashions from her own personal collection of vintage one-of-a-kind pieces. (Sorry, there is only one black and white coat). If you’re interested in finding you’re own unique pieces, definitely try thrifting atBeacon’s Closet.
And the jewels were a whole other story. Many of them were also one-of-a-kind pieces but a few of stunning earrings were provided by designerStudio Sophia Sophiaand the huge ankh and pearl necklace came fromElizabeth Taylor.
Every shot was captured here in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Yes, that’s a real fruit stand. There are so many random beautiful locations in unexpected places.
Helping us bring our vision to life along with our founder, Nnenna Stella, was Spencer Olson serving as our co-creative director. His vision definitely came in with some much needed new energy. A lot goes into putting these photoshoots together and it’s wonderful when you find new brilliant people to work with.
Lightweight, vibrant traditional African prints are one of the staple offerings we provide at The Wrap Life. This collection brings us back home.
